More than half of power outages resolved

Power had been restored to more than 4,000 more customers across the region Thursday morning.

At 10 a.m. Thursday, there were still about 20,000 outages across the Mountain Top News coverage area. That less than half of the more than 42,000 at the height of the outage.

Some relief is finally arriving in Lawrence County, which has been under a 98 percent outage since Tuesday, leaving fewer than 200 customers with power. Nearly 2,000 Lawrence County customers had power Thursday morning, while more than 6,300 still did not.
