Neighborhood reacts to arrest of suspected cop killer

“I’m so grateful that the suspect has been captured. It’s a sense of relief for us all.”

FLOYD COUNTY, KY.-No matter where you live in Eastern Kentucky, today’s arrest of a man suspected of killing a Pikeville police officer is undoubtedly the biggest news story of the day.
But imagine watching that story in person, right outside of your front door. That scenario is exactly what happened for some residents of Stony Brook Drive, off of Pike Floyd Hollow. We spoke to one neighbor who says she is relieved that the hunt is over.

“I’m so grateful that the suspect has been captured. It’s a sense of relief for us all. It is a great day here in our community to know that this has been resolved or is in the process of being resolved. They have shown a tremendous effort in finding this guy as quick as they did. This could have been dragged on a long time and I am just thankful that they have found him as quick as they have. I’m so grateful for our police. It’s a sad time in our community, but we have all gotten together. We are just very happy and relieved they have found him.”

Another neighbor tells EKB News that police have requested her surveillance footage, in an attempt to determine how John Russell Hall made his way to the neighborhood.
