New COVID-19 cases confirmed in Letcher, Pike counties

New COVID-19 cases have been announced in the region.


According to the Kentucky River District Health Department, two people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Letcher County. Those include an 80-year-old male and a 61-year-old female. The new cases bring Letcher County’s total COVID-19 case count to 17.


In Pike County, the Pike County Health Department is confirming four new COVID-19 cases, bringing the county’s total to 115 cases. Among the new cases are a 41-year-old asymptomatic female, an asymptomatic juvenile female, a 51-year-old symptomatic female and a 44-year-old symptomatic female. All of Pike County’s newly confirmed cases are recovering at home, the health department says. Pike County currently has 33 active COVID-19 cases.
