New COVID-19 cases linked back to asymptomatic patient in Floyd County

The Floyd County Health Department has announced new cases of COVID-19 in the county that have been traced back to an asymptomatic patient.

According to a statement from the health department on its Facebook page, two new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Floyd County. The new cases have prompted the health department to warn that more people who are determined to have been contacts with other confirmed COVID-19 cases are testing positive, even when the aforementioned case is asymptomatic.

The new cases bring Floyd County’s total case count to 23 cases, with 17 considered to have been recovered and six currently in isolation. The health department says the investigation into the new cases has been able to link cases together from casual or familial associations. The health department also says there has been no evidence of cases that are work-related.
