The Pike County Detention Center’s work release program continues to grow, allowing inmates who qualify to work in various areas of the community. One work release project that is finding success is the 20 acre garden which is beginning to yield hundreds of pounds of fresh produce that will be prepared for inmates’ meals. Pike County Jailer Brian Morris says that produce will save the jail tens of thousands of dollars each year.
