Pike County identifying residents receiving garbage service without paying for it

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – A project is underway in Pike County to identify residents who are receiving, but not paying for garbage service.  Pike County Judge Executive Ray Jones recently dedicated someone to ride in the garbage truck with solid waste employees to document every home putting out garbage to be picked up.  After he has traveled every route, a determination will be made as to who is receiving service without paying for it.  At that point, Judge Jones says his office will notify those residents and take action to collect what is owed.  As of this week, nearly 800 miles of garbage routes in Pike County have already been documented.
