FLOYD COUNTY, KY.– A Floyd County man sentenced to 20 years in prison for attempted murder is now a free man.
51-year-old Colonel Lewis Bolen, of Garrett, pleaded guilty to six counts of attempted murder, following a 2011 mass shooting at J and J General Store, at Gunlock. Despite being sentenced to 20 years, a state parole board last month recommended he be released, after serving less than seven years behind bars. He was released last Friday and will remain under supervision for the next seven years.
