Pike County man arrested after fleeing from police

PIKEVILLE, Ky. – A Pike County man was arrested Wednesday after fleeing from police.  

Twenty-five-year-old Jimmy Adkins was arrested after a neighbor called the police to report someone revving a car and playing music loudly.  

Upon arrival Kentucky State Police Post 9 identified the man as Adkins, who had outstanding warrants. After a brief chase he was arrested. 

After being transported to the Pike County Detention Center, Adkins was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance.  

He attempted to swallow the contraband which resulted in Adkins being tassed to retrieve the substance.

 Adkins is charged with promoting contraband, trafficking in a controlled substance, prescription of a controlled substance not in original container, fleeing police and resisting arrest.
