PHELPS, Ky. – Kentucky State Police received a call about a shooter in the Phelps area Friday, May 12th at 8am placing schools and other facilities on lockdown.
According to the citation the suspect, later identified to be 19 year old Sterlin Justice, fled the scene leading Kentucky State Police on an hours long search. Justice was located less then 5 miles from the crime scene and placed under arrest without incident.
Following the investigation, it was determined one person was dead as a result of the shooting.
Justice was placed in the Pike County Detention Center and is facing murder charges.
The shooting remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
