Pike County Receives Road Money

Pikeville, KY — During Tuesday’s Pike County Fiscal Court meeting, Gray Tomblyn II, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) commissioner of Rural and Municipal Aid, announced $936,600 in discretionary funds for resurfacing work on four county roads. Resurfacing repairs address existing surface cracks, potholes, raveling, and base failures. Pike County Judge-Executive Ray Jones welcomed the funding. Projects submitted to the Department of Rural and Municipal Aid for discretionary fund consideration were evaluated by the KYTC district staff to assess the condition of roads and determine the most critical needs based on factors such as safety, economic impact, and traffic volumes. The Pike County Fiscal Court is responsible for administering the work, and KYTC will reimburse the county for the projects.

Resurfacing work will address:

• Road Fork (CR 1286) a distance of 2.2 miles
• Sycamore Mountain (CR 1350-Q4) a distance of 2.4 miles
• Ford Mountain (CR 1364-Q4) a distance of 2.8 miles
• Right Fork of Brushy (CR 1360-Q4) a distance of 5.8 miles
