Pike County woman finds success getting shopping carts for special needs individuals in local stores

PIKEVILLE, Ky. –  After years of unsuccessful attempts by people across the United States to get a cart for special needs children and adults into Lowe’s Home Improvement stores, a Pike County woman found success, after a personal plea to the CEO of the company.   In the past two years, Cindy Moore has been successful at getting a Caroline’s Cart into more than 200 Food City stores and the Pikeville WalMart, which makes it much easier to take her special needs daughter, Lily, shopping.  But, she, like others across the country, was unable to get approval from the corporate headquarters of Lowes to purchase one for her local store.  However, her request was finally approved, and the Caroline’s Cart was unveiled last weekend in Pikeville, making it much easier for families of special needs adults and children to visit the store.  The Pikeville Lowe’s is the first Lowe’s in the country to offer the the Caroline’s Cart to its customers.
