PIKEVILLE, Ky. — EKB News has learned that District 2 Pike County Magistrate Vernon “Chick” Johnson has died.

He died early Sunday morning at his home. Arrangements are still pending at this time.

It is now up to Gov. Matt Bevin to appoint a replacement to serve the remainder of Johnson’s term.
