SIDNEY, Ky. — A Pike County man faces up to 10 years in prison, after being accused of beating a woman.
State troopers were called Wednesday to a home on Dix Fork, at Sidney, after the woman was able to call a friend and ask for help. Officers found the woman with severe bruising to various parts of her body, but the woman said she would only talk to officers at a different location.
In a recorded interview at the Pike County Sheriff’s satellite office in Belfry, the woman said she had been assaulted by Scott Stokes, 28, and that he also strangled her while holding a gun on her. She said the attack happened on Monday, and he refused to let her leave afterward.
Stokes was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
Police say a search of his residence failed to turn up any guns.
