PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man faces multiple counts of drug trafficking and possession, following a traffic stop Monday afternoon.
A state trooper spotted Franklin Compton, 49, of Pikeville, driving along U.S. 460, and knew that he previously had his driver’s license suspended.
After pulling him over, he asked to search the car and Franklin agreed, saying there was nothing illegal inside. However, the trooper found half an ounce of meth in a change compartment, then found a total of four ounces of meth, 9 grams of marijuana, a gram of heroin and more than $4,000 in small bills in the trunk.
Compton was arrested and charged with trafficking in meth, heroin and marijuana, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and several traffic violations. He remains in the Pike County Detention Center.
