PHELPS, Ky. — A Pike County woman faces multiple counts of drug trafficking, after police noticed a box in her purse saying it was for “drug use.”
A state trooper pulled over Tina Adkins, 48, of Phelps, around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, after noticing she wasn’t wearing a seat belt and her car had an altered temporary tag.
While speaking to her, police noticed a black box at the top of her purse labeled “drug [expletive] use only.” When police opened the box, they found three bags of meth, two bags of marijuana and a bag of Adipex, along with drug paraphernalia.
The arrest report notes Adkins told police she had been selling the drugs because she was unable to get a job.
Adkins was arrested and charged with three counts of drug trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia and a host of traffic violations.
