LICKBURG, Ky. — A Magoffin County mother was taken to jail, after she was found passed out in her car with her two small children inside.

Police were called just after 5 p.m. Monday to Lickburg, where a woman was said to be passed out in her car, which was partially in the road. When they arrived, they found Stephanie Daniel, 41, sitting in the car.

She told officers she went to take her 1- and 2-year-old children to get costumes and was going back home, but she got tired on her way back home and pulled over. But police said she was unable to keep her balance and they later discovered meth and marijuana in the car.

Daniel was arrested and on DUI, endangering the welfare of a minor, and other charges.
