PIKEVILLE, KY.- The Pikeville swimming pool has been the site of many summer memories made. But now, it is only a memory. This afternoon, work crews began filling in the city’s only public swimming pool. The pool was closed in order for an indoor football and cheerleading practice facility to be constructed on the site. Efforts to build a new swimming pool in the city are not yet complete, meaning a dry summer for local youth.
