PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Another major event at the Appalachian Wireless Arena in Pikeville has been postponed.

The concert by rockers Poison scheduled for August 8 has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Appalachian Wireless Arena announced Thursday that the show has been postponed and that a rescheduled date has not yet been announced.

In a Facebook post, however, the arena says a rescheduled date will be announced soon.

Ticket holders needing more information can contact Appalachian Wireless Arena or visit the arena box office off Huffman Avenue in Pikeville.

The Poison concert is the latest of several shows scheduled to take place at the arena this summer and fall that have been postponed due to the pandemic. Other postponed or cancelled events include Hank Williams Jr. and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
