PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pikeville woman faces felony charges after police found her with a sexually-explicit photograph of her 3-year-old daughter on her phone.
Pikeville Police received a complaint that Christina Brook Mitchell, 29, of Saad Avenue, had a picture of her daughter in a sexual pose. An officer went to her home to ask her about it.
When questioned, Mitchell then showed the photograph to the officer. She was then arrested and charged with promoting a minor in a sexual performance, as well as possession and distribution of material portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
The possession and distribution charges are Class D felonies, punishable by up to five years in prison. The promotion charge, however, is a Class B felony, punishable by 10-to-20 years in prison.
Mitchell is being held in the Pike County Detention Center. She is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges tomorrow.
