PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Floyd County man was arrested over the weekend after allegedly pulling a knife on police officers inside a restaurant popular with children.
According to court documents, the Pikeville Police Department received several complaints Saturday about a man acting strangely inside Gattis of Pikeville. Upon arrival, police say a man, identified as Maxwell McCord, 35, of Dana, was singing a song to himself and would not interact with officers.
According to the arrest citation, McCord then pulled out a knife and opened the blade, at which time officers allegedly took him to the ground and placed him under arrest.
McCord was charged with felony wanton endangerment of a police officer, and misdemeanor charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He remains lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
