Police: Skull found in Johnson County driveway

Police in Johnson County are investigating after a human skull was found in a residential driveway in the county.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, the skull was found during the early morning hours of Sunday, June 7, in a driveway in the White House community. According to the sheriff’s office, it is believed that dogs carried the skull to that location.

The sheriff’s office says an initial search of the area was conducted with the assistance of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office K9 Search and Rescue unit. The Johnson County Coroner’s Office also responded and the skull was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for examination and possible identification, the sheriff’s office says.

The investigation into the discovery of the remains is ongoing and positive identification has not yet been made, the sheriff’s office says.
