Prestonsburg crash kills Magoffin woman

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A Magoffin County woman is dead, following a crash in Prestonsburg last night.

Police say 40-year-old Elizabeth Lemaster, of Paintsville, was driving north on Route 321 shortly after 9 o’clock, near Highlands Regional Medical Center, when she went off the road and struck a guardrail. Her vehicle bounced off of the guardrail and back into the road, where it continued into the southbound lane and struck a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Jessica Owens, of Salyersville.

Owens will already dead by the time help arrived.

Lemaster was trapped in her vehicle. She was extricated and flown by helicopter to Cabell Huntington Hospital.

No charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation.
