MILLARD, Ky. – In March, we told you about Jefferson, a bald eagle who was found injured near Fishtrap Dam in Pike County. And, after a couple months of medical care and rehab at the LIberty Nature Center in Somerset, Jefferson is coming home. On Saturday around noon, officials with the Liberty Nature Center and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife are inviting the public to Fishtrap Dam to help celebrate his recovery and witness his release. Francis Carter, with the rehab center in Somerset, says for the first couple weeks, they weren’t sure Jefferson would survive. Jefferson is the third Bald Eagle to be released in eastern Kentucky this year.
