PRESTONSBURG, KY.– The City of Prestonsburg ended 2017 with a bang on New Year’s Eve as they held their third annual Star Raising at Archer Park.
Nearly 150 people braved 15 degree temperatures to watch the fireworks, get a deep fried treat, hot cup of cocoa and ring in the New Year together a community.
“I don’t care how good your leader is, how good your administration is, or how good your departments are, if the city doesn’t have pride in itself and if the departments and the employees don’t have pride in themselves, you’re not going to progress.”
Mayor Stapleton went on to thank everyone who attended the event and praised the Prestonsburg Fire Department for their hard work on the fireworks display.
