Prestonsburg schedules weekend of social distancing events for Easter

The City of Prestonsburg will be holding multiple social distance friendly events this weekend.

According to their post, there will be an anti-parade car show on Saturday with the time to be announced. On Sunday at 2:00 PM, the Easter Bunny will be riding around town with City of Prestonsburg Mayor Les Stapleton.

The City of Prestonsburg says:

We know times are different, especially leading into this weekend. The City of Prestonsburg has organized an ANTI-PARADE! What in the world is an anti-parade, you ask? Instead of lining the streets to witness the parade, we’re bringing the parade to you.

To do this, we need all to enjoy this only from your home or front yards. Reminder, no congregating. On Saturday, we will be hosting a classic car cruise throughout Prestonsburg. To take part in this with your cool classic car, contact Shawn Woods at 606-226-0377. Everyone must stay in their cars at all times and route and schedule will be announced on Friday.

We also had a special friend reach out saying he couldn’t go without seeing his friends from the ‘Burg. So, on Sunday starting at 2pm the Easter Bunny will be taking a ride through Prestonsburg with Mayor Stapleton. Be sure to give him a big wave and a smile when he hops through.

For more information, visit the City of Prestonsburg’s Facebook page. Routes will be posted Friday.
