Prisoner escapes while at hospital

McDOWELL, Ky. — Kentucky State Police is asking the public to be on the lookout for an inmate who walked away while being treated at a Floyd County hospital.

Robert Lyttle, 35, of Hazard, had been arrested on shoplifting and meth possession charges. He had been taken to McDowell ARH for treatment, when he allegedly slipped out of his handcuffs, changed clothes and fled around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

He is described as 6 feet tall and 200 lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue flannel shirt, black sweat pants, black and white athletic shoes and a tan ballcap.
