WHITESBURG, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has scheduled a public information meeting for proposed spot improvements to U.S. 119 between Whitesburg and Jenkins in Letcher County. The purpose of the meeting is to present the alternates currently under design. Those attending will be encouraged to provide feedback regarding the design. Transportation Cabinet representatives will be available to receive comments and respond to questions. The meeting will be conducted in an open format, meaning that those interested may attend at any point during the meeting. Both written and oral statements will be accepted at the meeting. Additionally, the meeting will provide the public an opportunity to voice concerns on potential impacts to a recreational trail within Fishpond Lake Park, a recreational property protected by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The meeting will be held Tuesday, January 16th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pine Mountain Grill in Whitesburg.
