MILLARD, Ky. – As Christmas decorations are beginning to come down, officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources at Fishtrap Lake are asking for donations of natural Christmas Trees. Every year, a section of the parking lot near the campground at Fishtrap Lake in Pike County is designated as a drop off area for natural Christmas trees, which will be placed at different points in the lake in the spring to attract fish. Natural Resource Specialist Brett Salyers with the Corps of Engineers says their office does not need to be notified when trees are dropped off. However, the natural trees must be free of artificial decorations and/or lights.
