Paintsville, KY — Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 12 officials report that road work will close KY 40 in Johnson County Thursday and Friday, July 11th and 12th from 7:00 AM until 7 PM both days. Motorists will need to find an alternate route. The work zone is about halfway between Meally and Williamsport. According to Doug Wright, Highway District 12 Paintsville Section Engineer says road repairs did not begin when the road was reduced to one lane because utility lines were in the way. Wright says AT&T has moved their lines, but AEP lines are so closed to the drilling rig that power will have to be shut off. AEP will shut off power on Friday for about five hours, from 7:30 AM until 12:30 PM and will affect about 100 customers. The power company will notify those affected customers today and tomorrow of the Friday planned outage.
