Robbery With A Gun

Pike County, KY — Kentucky State Police responded to a domestic violence complaint that ended with a Pike County man in jail. According to Troopers, the incident occurred in the Dry Branch of Virgie area of Pike County shortly before 4:00 AM Tuesday morning. When Troopers arrived, Melissa Tackett told them her son, 24-year-old Cody Johnson, was drunk and had threatened her and fired a gun into the ceiling of the trailer. Johnson had left the residence prior to Troopers arriving. A short time later, Post 9 Pikeville received a call saying Johnson had stolen a car and held Anthony Adkins at gun point in the residence of the original call. Troopers returned and Johnson fled out the back door and discarded a revolver that had been described by Adkins. Adkins told Troopers that Johnson had taken a $50.00 bill from him after holding a gun to his head. When taken into custody, Cody Johnson had a single $50.00 bill in his wallet. Troopers charged Cody Johnson with 1st degree Robbery and 1st degree Wanton Endangerment and lodged him in the Pike County Detention Center.
