Rock Slide closes US 460 between Marrowbone and Yellow Hill in Pike County

A rock slide on US 460 between Marrowbone Creek Road and Yellow Hill has forced Highway District 12 officials to close the road to all traffic.  The slide, which occurred just before noon on Friday, brought large boulders, trees and other mud and debris onto the road, initially blocking one lane of traffic.  However, once Highway District 12 officials got on scene, they discovered the slide was still moving.  Because of the size of the slide and the potential for more material to fall onto the roadway, the decision was made to close the road until the slide stabilized.  EKB News will remain in contact with Highway Department officials, and will relay new information, including pictures and video, as soon as it becomes available.
