Sen. Rand Paul recovers from coronavirus

Sen. Rand Paul has tested “negative” for coronavirus.

In a post to his official Twitter account Tuesday morning, the Kentucky Republican announced he is now virus-free.

“I appreciate all the best wishes I have received,” Paul said in the tweet. “I have been retested and I am negative.”

Paul announced on March 22 that he had been diagnosed as having tested positive for COVID-19. After the positive test, he entered isolation. According to his tweet on Tuesday, he is now volunteering at a local hospital to provide medical assistance, including to coronavirus patients.

In a photo attached to the tweet, Paul is shown wearing a name badge from TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green.
