Shop With A Trooper gets thousands through donations, fundraiser

fundIt was a good day in Letcher County for kids.
A pair of donations and a fundraiser netted more than $4,500 for Kentucky State Police Post 13’s Shop With A Trooper event. Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation donated $500 to the cause, and $4,000 was donated by the organizers of the Heritage 2K Car and Truck Show. Those donations were supplemented by a fundraiser at Long John Silver’s of Whiteburg, which donated a portion of the restaurant’s sales throughout the day to Shop With A Trooper.
KSP Spokesperson Trooper Jody Sims said the donations will go a long way toward making a bunch of deserving kids happy this Christmas.
The Hazard Long John Silver’s also held the same fundraiser for Post 13’s Shop With A Trooper, which is scheduled to be held next Friday at the Whitesburg Walmart. To make a donation, contact Trooper Jody Sims at KSP Post 13 in Hazard.
