SOUTH WILLIAMSON, Ky. — Kentucky State Police are looking for a man who they say dropped a handgun in the South Williamson Walmart causing it to discharge.

KSP Post 9 Public Information Officer Trooper Michael Coleman said no one was injured, but that he had fielded some calls asking about an “active shooter.” He added that the incident appears to have been an accident. The man they believe dropped the gun left the store shortly after the incident occurred, Coleman said.

Kentucky State Police are actively searching for the individual at this time and are continuing to investigate the incident.
