A Martin County man is in serious condition following a two vehicle crash Saturday evening.

Martin County Sheriff John Kirk says 35 year old Jasper Maynard was operating a dirt bike around 6pm on old Route 3 when he struck another vehicle and crashed.

Maynard was transported to Pikeville Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, where he remains.

Sheriff Kirk said the motorcycle Maynard was driving at the time of the crash had been reported stolen two hours earlier from Inez Pawn Shop.

The case remains under investigation by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
