Tuesday morning, a heavy police presence at Belfry High School had some parents and students on high alert. Pike County Sheriff Rodney Scott told Mountain Top News there were three deputies and two Kentucky State Troopers there as students were arriving after an alleged threat was made by a student Monday evening. The student who allegedly made the threat was identified, and questioned by school officials and police as he arrived on school property. Sheriff Scott says the student has been suspended, and cannot return to school until a “threat assessment” has been completed.
