Suspended attorney indicted for forgery

MARTIN COUNTY, KY.–A Martin County attorney has found herself in need of legal representation.

Forgery_4In September EKB News brought you the story of a decision by the Kentucky Supreme Court to suspend the license of Martin County attorney Christy Smith Grayson for allegedly mishandling two adoption cases. In one of those cases she allegedly provided her client with a fraudulent document saying the adoption had been approved.

Grayson was indicted this week by a Martin County grand jury on 3-counts of 2nd degree forgery and 3-counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. The indictment claims that between May of 2016 and October of 2017 she forged the signature of the Martin County Family Court judge on several orders to mislead clients into thinking she had performed work for them that she actually had not. Each count is a Class D felony punishable by up to 5-years in prison.
