These brave parents spread childhood cancer awareness after tragedy

Since September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Williamson Memorial Hospital hosted the event “Paint The Town Gold” to honor children in the region that have battled or are currently battling cancer. Ginger Stanley, a mother who lost her daughter Ava Hauser to cancer, says that she is hoping more parents will become aware of this epidemic and really pay attention to the warning signs of your children. She also stated that only 4% of cancer research funding goes to children and that no child should have to worry if they are going to live or die. Ava was only 5 when she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer named diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma.
