Police in Pikeville arrested several people late Thursday for allegedly trafficking in meth in methamphetamine.
According to court documents, 35-year-old Bradley Newsome, 37-year-old Ermil Keith Rogers, and 41-year-old Kandy Lynn Parsons, were arrested at the Hatfield McCoy Lodge along U.S. 23 in Pikeville after police received reports of possible drug trafficking in the area. After surveilling the area, officers approached a motel room and allegedly found the three inside the room with a quantity of meth, scales and bags.
Court documents said Bradley Newsome was immediately arrested. Rogers and Parsons allegedly ran into the bathroom of the motel room, ignoring commands to stop, and locked themselves in the bathroom.
Police made entry into the bathroom, court documents said, and allegedly found Rogers and Parsons attempting to hide suspected crystal meth behind the toilet and in other areas.
Bradley Newsome was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and other drug-related charges. Ermil Rogers and Kandy Parsons were both charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, tampering with evidence and second-degree possession of a controlled substance.
Parsons was later charged with an additional count of felony promoting contraband after a half of a Suboxone strip was allegedly found in her bra at the jail. All three pleaded not guilty to their charges and they remain lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on $10,000 cash bonds each.
