Traffic stop leads to drug charges for a Magoffin County man

Salyersville, Ky.–It happened on Coon Creek Road in Salyersville when a Magoffin County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a gray Volkswagen Beetle that was possibly connected to a Morgan County truck theft.

The driver of the vehicle, 32-year old Michael Barnett of Salyersville, allegedly told the officer hat his license was suspended. Several types of narcotics were found inside the vehicle, including syringes, plastic bags and what is believed to be meth and over three-hundred dollars in cash.

Barnett was arrested and charged with 3-counts of possession of a controlled substance, trafficking in a controlled substance, DUI and other traffic related charges.
