PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A traffic stop in Pikeville earlier this week led to the arrest of two suspected meth dealers.
The two were arrested after a traffic stop led to a large methamphetamine bust in Pikeville.
According to court documents, 42-year-old Karen Spears, also known as Karen Wallace, of Pikeville, and 28-year-old Christopher Wireman of Gunlock, were arrested at Fife Fork in Pikeville earlier this week. Court documents said Pikeville Police executed a traffic stop on Spears’ vehicle after noticing it weaving while driving, and after receiving information the vehicle was used to pick up crystal meth in Louisville to be brought back to Pike County for distribution.
Court documents said a search of the vehicle yielded the discovery of 56 grams of crystal meth, along with other drugs, including Ecstasy.
Spears was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, and other drug charges, while Wireman was charged with second-offense trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree, carrying a concealed weapon and other drug charges. Both remain lodged in the Pike County Detention Center.
