Trial date set in Pike murder case

Jennifer Blankenship

A trial date has been set in a Pike County murder trial.

Pike Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Bartley told EKB News that 32-year-old Jennifer Blankenship, of Turkey Creek near Belfry, will stand trial in September in the death of Williamson, West Virginia-resident Sam Kimberlain last year. Kimberlain’s body was found in a shallow grave at Blankenship’s residence on June 21, 2017.

Blankenship is facing charges of murder and abuse of a corpse. 34-year-old Okie Lee Hinkle previously pleaded guilty in the case to charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence. He was sentenced to three years in prison.
