Police are continuing to investigate a murder in Letcher County.

Kentucky State Police Master Trooper Jody Sims tells EKB News that investigators are still gathering information about the murder of Ricky Gibson, which allegedly occurred at the residence of Clifford Caudill in Neon. Caudill and Dedra Keathley, of Pike County, were charged Wednesday night with Gibson’s murder.

Gibson had been missing for several days. A third person named in court documents who allegedly aided in the hiding of Gibson’s body, which was found yesterday on an abandoned surface mine, has not yet been identified by police.

Gibson was allegedly shot and killed during the course of an altercation between he, Caudill and Keathley. Caudill and Keathley are facing charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence.
