Two arrests made in unrelated Mingo County arson cases

MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. — The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office made an arrest last week in a Mingo County arson case. 18-year-old Kevin Urban was arrested and lodged in the Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden. He is charged with second degree arson, breaking-and-entering, and conspiracy. Urban allegedly broke into the old Burch High School building in Delbarton, then opened a door to let two juveniles in the building. Urban and the juveniles then allegedly set fire to boxes and files the town of Delbarton had stored in the building. One of the juveniles is charged with second degree arson, conspiracy and entering without breaking. The other juvenile is still in question. And in another unrelated case in Mingo County, 25-year-old Donovan Lester has been arrested in connection with a March 2nd fire at Gilbert. He is accused of setting fire to the residence owned by his father. Lester was charged with first degree arson. He was also lodged in the Southwestern Regional Jail.
