PIKE COUNTY, KY.–In an update to a story we first reported last night, a body found near Fishtrap Lake in Pike County has been identified. According to Kentucky State Police, the body of 52-year old James Wolford of Jamboree was found on Fishtrap Mine Road at Fishtrap Lake in the Fedscreek area. Police received a report yesterday afternoon of a body being found at Biggs. The caller had indicated that the cause of death was a possible drowning. However, police say the cause of death is not known at this time.
“This subject was with I believe two other people and it has not yet been determined exactly why they were over there, but the water had come up faster than what they thought it would and their car ended up getting washed off the roadway into the lake. They got out and he was ok, then they went to get help to my understanding and when they came back they found him deceased.”
Trooper Petry went on to say that foul play is not suspected at this time. The investigation is continuing.
