Perry County, KY — We have this update to a story we had earlier this month. Kentucky State Police Investigators have now released the names involved in a deadly confrontation Monday evening June 10th that occurred in Perry County. In that incident, Kentucky State Police Trooper Brad Martin was shot in the leg. 58-year-old Zendall Noble of Bonnyman was fatally wounded. This incident took place as KSP Troopers with Post 13 in Hazard, KSP Drug Enforcement Special Investigations East Interdiction Team and Perry County Sheriff’s Deputies were attempting to execute a search warrant at a residence on Hull School Road in Bonnyman. In a statement, Police indicate that Noble confronted Troopers and a Deputy with a gun and exchanged gunfire with the officers. Trooper Martin, a 5-year veteran with the Kentucky State Police and Trooper Ronnie Long, a 24-year veteran were placed on administrative leave which is standard procedure following a deadly force incident. Perry County Deputy Sheriff Kevin Day, a 7-year veteran with that department was also placed on administrative leave. This incident remains under investigation by Sgt. Randy Combs with the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team.
