The University of Pikeville men’s soccer team played in dominant fashion Wednesday, shutting out Johnson University 3-0 on the road in Appalachian Athletic Conference action.
Bruno Arenal struck first with a goal in the opening half, while Jakub Rus and Alex Pritchard added insurance scores after the break. Bruno Back chipped in with an assist.
On the defensive end, it was all Bears, as UPIKE didn’t allow a single shot on goal to preserve the clean sheet.
The victory moved the Bears to 3-2 overall and a perfect 2-0 in AAC play. Johnson dropped to 1-3 and remains winless in conference action.
UPIKE returns home Saturday for a 5:30 p.m. kickoff against Columbia College at Bob Amos Park.
