
BOWLING GREEN – The most successful season in University of Pikeville softball history came to an end this past Friday as the Bears were eliminated from the Mid-South Conference Tournament.
UPIKE, which finished its season at 26-22, lost to the University of Cumberlands (6-2) in an elimination game after falling to Georgetown (2-0) in the opener.
In the finale, Jordan Gentry led the Bears with two hits while Chandler Kelly and Hannah Absher each singled, scored and drove in one run apiece.
Megan Claypoole suffered the loss.
UPIKE managed just three hits in the opening loss to Georgetown. Kitty Raymond, Kelly and Absher each had one apiece.
