Ambulance Crash Claims Two Paramedics

Nicholas County, WV — Two West Virginia paramedics were killed Saturday when their ambulance crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer. It happened on Route 19 in Nicholas County at about 8 a.m. West Virginia State troopers said a Jan-Care ambulance was traveling south on Powell Mountain when it ran into the back of the tractor-trailer which was parked in the right lane. Troopers didn’t initially know why the rig had stopped in the southbound slow lane. The two paramedics, who were returning to Raleigh County after a transport to Morgantown, were identified as 23-year-old Brittany Young of Glen Jean, and 35-year-old Ronald Dick II of Shady Spring. Two people in the truck were not injured. Troopers are continuing their investigation.
