Virginia Man Arrested Fleeing Police

Wise County, VA — Wise County Sheriff’s Deputies finally arrested a man who fled from authorities, not once but several times. According to Deputies, Brendon Austin Caige Hill was driving erratically in a stolen vehicle when they tried to stop the vehicle. Hill accelerated to elude police, passing a school bus and driving through a yard. Hill turned onto another street when the pursuing deputy saw another school bus coming toward them. The deputy used his patrol car to push Hill off the road to avoid have a head on collision with the bus. Hill again accelerated but struck a house and came to a stop. Hill fled on foot however deputies were able to detain two other people who were in the car. The Town of Wise Police and UVA-Wise College Police were able to capture Hill a short distance away. Upon investigation, Hill allegedly told police he a smoked a lot of meth earlier. Deputies found a firearm, meth pipes and unidentified pills. Hill was charged with DUI, fleeing law enforcement, possession of a concealed weapon, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and various traffic violations and lodged in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield, Virginia with no bond.
